SUMMARY:Radically Open Relating: A Costa Rica Retreat for Radically Open Relationships
DESCRIPTION:**Most people never experience the depth of love that is possible through radically open relating.** \nMarch 2nd-9th\, 2026\, we are hosting a 6 day / 6 night retreat at Cascada Elysiana in Costa Rica for people in non-traditional relationships of all kinds. Poly\, open\, relationship anarchy\, quietly curious monogamy\, and undefined connections that do not fit a box.\nCouples\, triads\, singles\, and friends who are “kind of together” are all welcome. There is no preferred format and no gold star for fitting a mold. The common thread is a desire to relate with more honesty\, more choice\, and more aliveness. \nAcross the week we will explore: \n* How to tell the truth about what you want\, even when it feels risky\n* How to stay with jealousy\, anger\, fear\, and grief without shutting down or exploding\n* How to relate from self respect rather than self abandonment\n* How to use embodied practice and expanded states of consciousness to listen more deeply to yourself and to each other \nThis is not a retreat where anyone claims to be an expert on every form of non-traditional relationship. \nTony\, Avery\, and Dan are experienced in something different. They create containers for embodied honesty\, somatic awareness\, and peer led exploration. The retreat will also include guest contributors who bring their own lived experience of non traditional relating. Together\, you will build a temporary community where it is normal to speak openly about desire\, limits\, fear\, and longing. \n### Who this is for \nThis retreat may be a fit for you if: \n* You are in a polyamorous\, open\, or otherwise non traditional relationship and want a dedicated space to do deeper work together\n* You are single and want clarity about what you truly want in relationships before you invite others into it\n* You are navigating jealousy\, resentment\, or fear of abandonment and want practical\, embodied ways to work with it\n* You are curious about how grief\, honesty\, and expanded states of consciousness can support real change in how you love \nAll genders and sexual orientations are welcome. This retreat is explicitly welcoming of LGBTQIA+ participants and a wide range of relationship structures. \n### What to expect \nThis is a workshop in a beautiful place\, rather than a casual holiday. You can expect: \n* Daily group sessions focused on radical honesty\, non withholding\, and embodied practice\n* Small group and partner exercises to explore your patterns in real time\n* Peer led learning and space for Life Stories and hot seat work\n* Time in nature at an eco retreat centre with a 190 foot waterfall on the land\n* Evenings will have optional peer-led opportunities\, containers for expanded states\, and freedom to rest\, integrate\, and connect informally \nThere will likely be tears\, raised voices\, silence\, laughter\, awkwardness\, and relief. The space is designed to support the full range of human emotion with care. \n### Location and dates \nLocation: Cascada Elysiana\, near Dominical\, Costa Rica\nDates: March 2–9\, 2026\nParticipants will fly into San José (SJO) and travel by shared taxi to the retreat centre. Support with ride sharing will be offered. \n### Learn more and register interest \nYou can read the full retreat description\, including daily rhythm\, accommodation options\, and an overview of the curriculum\, here:\n[https://www.averycollura.com/events/relationships-retreat-march2026](https://www.averycollura.com/events/relationships-retreat-march2026) \nIf you are interested in attending\, please complete this short interest form so that you can receive updates\, pricing\, and next steps:\n[https://forms.gle/u13EftnDzn6dhMXD6](https://forms.gle/u13EftnDzn6dhMXD6) \nWe are also hosting a separate virtual Q and A session in January for anyone who would like to ask questions live before deciding:\n[https://www.meetup.com/radical/events/312361468/](https://www.meetup.com/radical/events/312361468/)

SUMMARY:Monthly Meetup: Practicing Radical Honesty
DESCRIPTION:The Radically Open Connection meetup originally formed as a Radical Honesty group\, but expanded to include other modalities. This month\, we will return to that original focus and practice some exercises from Dr Brad Blanton’s 2nd book\, “Practicing Radical Honesty”. \nThese exercises are aimed at helping people realize the many ways we all dissociate from our present experience and hide the parts of ourselves we fear others will not accept. The practices aim to give attendees more ability to connect deeply with others when they wish to do so\, and in the process\, shed light on subconscious shadows and fears that may be steering the ship of our lives more than we realize. \nWe will be meeting in the Open Media Foundation studio at 700 Kalamath St.

SUMMARY:The Role of Music in the Psychedelic Experience
DESCRIPTION:Music has played a central role in psychedelic experiences for centuries. In the past decade\, empirical research has finally been done to examine the magnitude and nature of the impact of music on the therapeutic effect of psychedelics. \n### Objectives \nThis is a peer-led event\, so we welcome input from YOU on the design of this event. \nTo start\, we will review [recent data](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5893695/) assessing the [influence of music ](https://hi-ground.org/resources/scientifically-approved-playlists-for-psychedelic-therapy/)on the psychedelic experience and clinical outcomes of psychedelic therapy. \nThe second topic will be a discussion on the value of following or appropriating indigenous traditions and music\, exploring how more modern institutions\, such as John Hopkins researched the impact of [their famous playlist](https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/news/articles/2020/10/inside-the-johns-hopkins-psilocybin-playlist) (comprised mostly of classical music) on participants. Then\, there will be a discussion on what makes music well-suited for a positive set & setting\, and the benefits and risks of identifying music from one’s own culture instead of using music from foreign or ancient cultures. \nPlease bring your favorite playlists and we will coordinate an exchange of music well-suited to positive psychedelic experiences from a wide range of backgrounds.

SUMMARY:Psychedelic Therapists & Practitioners CPPC Community Gathering: Focus on DMT
DESCRIPTION:**CPPC Peer-Led Psychedelic Practitioners Meetup**\n️Wednesday\, March 11th | 6:30 PM\nBeacon RiNo | Denver\, CO \nThe Colorado Psychedelic Practitioners Cohort (CPPC) invites you to an evening of connection\, learning\, and shared practice with fellow psychedelic therapists\, facilitators\, and space holders.\nThis free\, peer-led meetup will include a series of brief\, practical presentations. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or just beginning your path\, this is a welcoming space to learn\, connect\, and grow alongside others committed to ethical\, science-informed facilitation. \nSome months we have a theme or focus\, and this month we will be focusing on DMT\, with brief presentations on the various routes of administration of DMT and an overview of the current state of Colorado law in regards to DMT extraction\, use\, and gifting. \n**Want to present?**\nIn true CPPC fashion\, we’re opening the mic to the community. If you have a tool\, topic\, or insight you’d like to share—an exercise\, somatic practice\, research update\, or community offering—let us know and we’ll add you to the lineup. These peer-led “lightning presentations” do not need to be focused on DMT\, but must be relevant to the focus of the Cohort\, which is optimizing the safe\, legal use of psychedelics with a focus on mental health. Email CoPsychedelics@gmail.com to discuss.
